The Essential Support program is A Wider Circle’s largest program. It provides beds, dressers, tables, chairs, dishes, pots, pans, and other large and small home goods to families transitioning out of shelters, escaping domestic violence, or otherwise living without such basic items. Andover volunteers will help to sort donations and stock the showrooms. Volunteers help A Wider Circle furnish 10-20 homes free of charge each day for members of the community in need.

Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes and family-friendly comfortable clothing. The center is not fully temperature-controlled, so please dress for the weather. Volunteers will be asked to complete a waiver in advance of participating. Those 13 years or under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Additionally, a parent or guardian will need to verify the waiver for anyone under the age of 18. The organization currently requires that volunteers be vaccinated and bring a picture of their vaccination card the day of volunteering. Masking for the duration of the volunteer engagement is recommended but not required.
